Frame Selection

Eyebrow Line
The top of the frame should follow the eyebrow as closely as possible.

Face Width
Accurate measurement of the face size is helpful in finding the right frame size.

Frame Position
Properly fitted frames should not move around while on your face or when you smile; and should fit comfortably without “pinching”.

Pupil Alignment
Pupils should be near the center of the lens.

Frame Shape
Whether or not a frame style looks good can depend on getting the right style for your face shape:

  • Oval (rounded forehead and chin of equal size)
Most frame styles particularly geometric or rounded frames
  • Round (large curved forehead, full cheeks, with a round chin) Geometric frame to sharpen the features and creates definition
  • Square (wider forehead, cheek, and chin area with a slightly angular jaw) Rounded, cat-eyed, rimless, or oval styles to soften angular facial lines
  • Rectangular (long or narrow with square chin) Curved or rounded styles to emphasize width
  • Triangular (wider forehead narrowing gradually to a slightly rounded chin) Aviator or geometric to add width to the chin and cheek area
  • Diamond (smaller forehead and chin, with wider temple area) Rounded or geometric frames to minimize the width of the temple area

Skin Tone Considerations
For darker skin tones, try brighter, bolder or richer hues. For lighter skin tones, look for lighter colors.

Frame Materials

Flex Pads
Stainless steel, spring coiled nosepieces that adjust to the bridge of your nose for unequalled fit and instant comfort

Memory Metal
Lightweight made primarily of non-corrosive titanium for flexibility and durability.

Plastic
Interesting shapes and colors, lightweight

Screw-less Hinge
No screws give you hassle-free maintenance and fewer adjustments

Silicone
Very comfortable when combined with spring coils, they reduce slippage and create a customized fit to the bridge of the nose

Spring Hinges
Reduces the need for frequent adjustments because they spring back into place, which helps maintain proper alignment

Stainless Steel
Sturdy non-corrosive metal; extremely lightweight and often offers a slim sleek profile. Easily adjustable not easily damaged. Discoloration is rare.
